They are what you feed them

Hello there, my name is Dr Alex Richardson and I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit this site.

In my early career as a teacher, I first became aware of just how many children were affected by common difficulties in behaviour and learning: difficulties such as not being able to concentrate for long periods of time, becoming easily bored, acting impulsively, tripping over things, trying to make sense of what is written or read. Perhaps some of these are traits we all have? Or traits we have seen in our children or friends? It is when these traits become prominent that they turn into ‘learning difficulties’.

These observations inspired me to turn to research, and to begin a mission that has spanned the last 20 years to try and establish the nature and underlying causes of such difficulties. My primary aim has always been to find better ways of identifying and helping those affected.

I have written this book to help you cut through the mixture of ignorance and denial as to how the human brain works and to assist you in doing something practical in helping those in your care to reach their true potential.

This interactive website has been set up to further your knowledge and understanding. We would like you to use this site as a meeting place and hope this leads you to finding some practical benefits and solutions.

Please visit us regularly and keep in touch!
